New Hair Resolutions: Start Your Year The Fashionable Way

The Lob

Worn By: Jessica Alba, Zoe Saldana, Diane Kruger, Naomi Watts, Scarlett Johansson, Camilla Belle, Kate Moss and Olivia Palermo.
The Cut: Collar grazing bob.
Why it Works: Worn best with scruffy curls, this cut is perfect for those who are in between styles.
Caution: Although this haircut bleak for the modern messy look, as we all know ‘messy’ can take ours to achieve. This seemly low maintenance cut requires a great deal of putty, curling and Moroccan oil to work. Without the sheen your new haircut could quickly go from chick to bleak.
The Ombre

Worn By:Carrie Bradshaw,Lauren Conrad, Jessica Biel, Hilary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Isabel Lucas, Drew Barrymore, Rachel Bilson, Whitney Port and Alexa Chung.
The Hair: New Year, New You, New Hue. Enter ‘The Ombre.’ Gone are the days when regrowth was seen to be uncool as the young Hollywood elite have all embraced the dark roots with the gradual lighter colouring.
Why It Works: Low maintenance as regrowth is actually promoted with this new hue. Lighter colours show off the swingy movement of a new layered haircut.
Caution: If your hair has lost it’s shape the look will quickly go from chic to retro.

The Audrey Hepburn

Worn By: Katy Perry, Eva Mendes, Beyonce, Leighton Meester, Kate Bosworth, Taylor Swift, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Audrina Patridge.
The Style: The deep part: It’s preppy without being stuffy and requires virtually no styling effort. The pony: It’s chic and girlie- for extra bounce, use a tong. Backcombed beehive: the Brigitte Bardot style makes a comeback. The style elongates your neck making your face appear thinner while highlighting your collarbones. French Roll: hot rollers at the ready it’s time party like it’s 1949.
Why It Works: The epitome of femininity. It’s the celebration of women in all our soft, sophisticated glory.

The Choice of the Frocks and Shocks on the Blue Carpet

The search for the best dressed at the 2011 People's Choice Awards left me disappointed.

In a surprise turnaround Kristen Stewart was best dressed of the evening. This may be in part due to the pressure the Paparazzi imposed on eagerly waiting to see if her relationship with Robert Pattinson would be FINALLY revealed. Sorry to disappoint but it looks as though we may have to wait for sneaky pap shoot of another stolen kiss.

With the tennis season approaching Malin Akerman sure knows how to gain the attention of the Adidas or Nike marketing department who may be looking for a ambassador or maybe it was just her bid for Wimbeldon tickets. Either way she looked like a Tennis Goddess!!

Selena Gomez's shoes were also a welcomed delight. Her feet were the best dressed in the house thanks to her nude platform pumps.

Cory Monteith transistioned from the Gleek high schooler Finn Hudson to a stylish star on the blue carpet. From head to toe Corey was dressed to impress. Is this a bid for the newly single Taylor Swift's heart?

Now the shockers of the evening:
Raven, Raven, Raven. Where for art thou Raven's mind?!?!?!?
Although, this outfit does scream That's So Raven!!

After rising starlet Hellcat's star Amanda Michalka appearance at the People's Choice Awards it is clear she should enlist a stylist pronto!!!!!!!! Michalka should have left her Las Vegas clubbing outfit at the hotel before arriving in Hollywood. I plea to Michalka to organise a trip to Rodeo Drive or South Coast Plaza immediately if not sooner!!!!

The cupcake award goes to: Khloe Kardashian. Although I love, love, love her, I am hoping her raven hair made it's last appearance. Although, the fit of her dress skims her body beautifully maybe she is just adjusting to her new hair colour but Khloe should have viewed the rest of the colours in the design as the colour simply washed her out.
